FIFA World Cup 2026
World Cup 2026 Bracket: The Knockout Stage
The complete road to the final: 32 nations, 31 knockout matches from June 28 to July 19. While the group stage decides the qualifiers, each tie shows its official seed (e.g. “1st Group A vs 3rd C/E/F/H/I”) and fills in automatically with every result.
FINAL · MetLife Stadium, New York/New Jersey · Jul 19
Third place · Hard Rock Stadium, Miami · Jul 18
Top half — road to Semifinal 1 (Dallas, Jul 14)
Bottom half — road to Semifinal 2 (Atlanta, Jul 15)
How the 48-team bracket works
For the first time ever, the World Cup adds a Round of 32: the top 2 from each of the 12 groups (24 teams) plus the 8 best third-placed sides advance. That is why several ties depend on third-placed teams from multiple possible groups (“3rd C/E/F/H/I”) until the group stage ends on June 27.
The two halves of the bracket never meet until the final: the top half feeds Semifinal 1 (AT&T Stadium, Dallas, July 14) and the bottom half feeds Semifinal 2 (Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, July 15). The 2026 world champion will have played 8 matches — one more than in any previous edition.
