About GioScore

What GioScore Is
GioScore is a free football statistics website. It shows live scores, results, fixtures, lineups, match events and match statistics, league tables and top scorers, and profiles of players, teams and coaches with their season-by-season records and transfer history. Our database holds more than 1,000 competitions from every continent, from the Premier League, LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League to lower divisions and youth tournaments. GioScore has been online since 2020, and the site is published in English.
Where the Data Comes From
Match and player data (fixtures, live scores, match events, lineups, match statistics, player ratings, standings, squads and transfers) comes from Sportmonks, a commercial football data provider. We do not collect match data ourselves and we do not check it against official league or federation records. What we do is described below and on our editorial policy.
Two fields on player profiles do not come from Sportmonks. Market values are estimates gathered from publicly available sources for around 40 leagues and then adjusted each week by our own formula (age, recent performance and league). Wages, where shown, are also taken from publicly available sources. Treat both as indicative, not official.
How Often It Updates
- Live matches — our servers ask Sportmonks for new scores and events about every 15 seconds, and at least every 30 seconds. A page you have open checks for updates every 30 seconds.
- After full time — the league table is fetched again about 90 seconds after the final whistle and once more 15 minutes later, and player season totals are recalculated about 10 minutes after the match ends.
- Fixtures — the schedule of upcoming matches is synced four times a day.
- League tables — every 30 minutes for the main leagues and once a day for all other active competitions.
- Players, teams and coaches — a sync every 4 hours adds new profiles and refreshes the most-viewed and currently active ones; other profiles are updated less often.
What We Calculate Ourselves
Some figures on the site are worked out by GioScore from the provider's match data rather than copied from it: per-90 rates, form and streaks, head-to-head records, percentiles against players in the same league and position, points per match for coaches and competition averages. Season ratings are averages of the provider's match ratings; we do not run our own rating model. Every rule, threshold and exception is explained on our methodology page. When there is not enough data for a figure, we leave it out instead of showing a guess.
Who Operates GioScore
GioScore is built and operated by the engineering team behind VAVEL, the international sports media group. The same team develops and maintains the data platform, the live-score infrastructure and this website. We do not currently maintain public social media profiles for GioScore; the ways to reach us are the contact page and [email protected].
How the Site Is Funded
GioScore is free to use and shows no advertising, sponsored content or betting links. We do not sell personal data. We measure traffic with Google Analytics; the details are in our privacy policy and cookie policy.
