What We Publish

GioScore publishes football data: scores, fixtures, lineups, match events and statistics, league tables, and profiles of players, teams and coaches. The short texts on those pages are generated automatically from the same data. We do not publish news, opinion or betting tips.

Data Sources

Match and player data comes from Sportmonks, a commercial football data provider. We do not check it against official league or federation records, so if the provider has a mistake, we can show it too until it is corrected. Player market values and wages are the exception: they are estimates taken from publicly available sources, and market values are adjusted each week by our own formula. How the Data Is Kept Up to Date

  • Live matches — our servers request new scores and events from Sportmonks about every 15 seconds, and at least every 30 seconds. A page you have open checks for updates every 30 seconds.
  • After full time — the league table is fetched again about 90 seconds after the final whistle and once more 15 minutes later. If a finished match is missing its score (or, in the main leagues, its events, lineups or statistics), it is fetched again from Sportmonks a few minutes later.
  • Calculated figures — player season totals are recalculated about 10 minutes after each match, and the other figures we compute are rebuilt from our database whenever a page is generated. The rules are on our methodology page.

Checks We Apply

  • Duplicates — if the same event appears twice in a match timeline, or the same match is recorded twice in a head-to-head, it is shown and counted once.
  • Missing is not zero — when a value was not recorded (for example assists or minutes in some competitions), we show a dash and leave it out of totals and averages instead of counting it as zero.
  • Not enough data, no figure — calculated blocks are hidden when there are too few matches or minutes to support them.
  • Known provider errors — for a small number of clubs we override the founding year, city, stadium name or capacity on our side when the provider's value is wrong. When we know a stadium capacity is wrong but not what the right figure is, we remove it instead of guessing.

Correction Policy

If you spot a mistake, email [email protected]with the page address, what is wrong and, if you know it, the correct value. Depending on where the error is, it is corrected in one of these ways: if it is in how we process or calculate the data, we fix our code, and the fix reaches every page that uses it; if it is in the provider's data, the match or profile is fetched again from Sportmonks once the provider has corrected it, or, for the club fields listed above, we override the value ourselves.

Independence

GioScore carries no advertising, sponsored content, affiliate links or betting links, and nobody pays to appear on the site or to change how data is shown. The figures we calculate follow the rules described on our methodology page.
