He currently manages Torpedo Kutaisi, where he is responsible for tactical decisions, match preparation and dressing-room management. Earlier in his career he also managed Kaiserslautern, gaining experience across different competitive contexts. He is regarded as one of the most influential modern coaches to have come from Germany.
